The FreeREG list of Latin names found in old documents shows Catalina, with appropriate Latin endings, as being the equivalent of Catherine, and Catherina/Katharina/Katalina being the equivalent of Katherine. We are not convinced that such subtle differentiation is entirely consistent and have collected all variants under Katherine [q.v.].
