A correspondent [DT] has noted the ocurrence in the Victoria, Australia Pioneers Index of a child named Ideen, born 1869, died 1875.

This name is not known elsewhere and we are led to believe that this could have been a transcription mis-reading of "Ileen" floridly written by the same Registrar. Ileen [q.v.] is an Australian re-spelling of Eileen.
