Kenard (female)

Pet Name(s):Kenny (F)
Masculine form:Kennard (M)

Source(s):
Private communication [GCB]
Notes:

GCB has noted the occurrence of this feminine form of Kennard [q.v.] on a grave stone datd 1848 in Aberdeen, as the pet name "Kenny". She was born about 1790-95.

The meaning of the male name is from Old English "bold" or "royal" + "guard" or "brave" but it is unlikely this meaning was still current in the 19th century.
