Scottish spelling variant of Marion [q.v.].

A correspondent [GJ] reports that, in the late 16^th century, the short form Maly was used for Marioun (i.e.an early variant spelling for Marion) in the Kirk Session records of St Andrews, Scotland [transcribed by the Scottish History Society].
