Marnie is English, espcially in US, Anglicized form of Marna [q.v.], the Swedish form of Marina [q.v.]. Marni is a modern variant of Marnie, probably following the preference for ending girl's names with "-i" rather than "-ie" or "-y" which tend to have "baby-name" connotations in some name forms.
