Christoverus (male)

Variants:Christopher (M) Christopherus (M) Xtopherus (M) Xtoverus (M)

Source(s): English Parish Register freereg.rootsweb.com
Notes:

Many old documents and some later ones replaced the first five letters of Christopher with X-, the symbol for "Christ", to give Xtopher. In the older documents in Latin an ending -us was normally added, modified as a Latin case ending, giving Xtopherus and, occasionally, Christopherus. The spellingsChristoverus/Xtoverus were also used.
