Notes:

Scottish Gaelic form of Beatrice/Beatrix, from Latin "bringer of joy".

 

 

ONC says Beathag is "often Anglicized as Sophia or Rebecca".  Because of this, these two names and Beatrix/Beatrice are classed here as lesser synonyms.
