Notes:

1. English and Scottish. There are a significant number of records of this spelling variant of Ellen/Helen [q.v.] in the 1841 Census of Aberdeenshire.

2. Welsh, possibly a respelling of Ellen/Helen but it is also the word for "nymph" and has a very long history.
