Notes:

Scandinavian, from the Old Norse Ivarr [q.v.]. The meaning is obscure but could be from "yew/bow" and "warrior" i.e. "warrior archer". Brought to Argyll about 1330 where it is a spelling variant of Ivor [q.v.].
